The human colony was going down in resources and for survival, they signed a pact with the aliens known as Xathurian. According to the pact in return for the resources, the humans have to provide human females to the alien males. At the age of twenty one, the selected girl is taken by one and sometimes more than one alien male. If the girl gets pregnant and delivers a baby then she is allowed to keep it if it is a girl as baby boys are taken away by the aliens.
The pact is cruel from the women’s point of view but there is nothing anyone can do about it. This time it’s a baby boy which is given birth by a human female and the aliens come to the small planet to claim it. The mother of the child became sad and this made her sister very angry and she objected to this cruelty.
The one named Tel was taking the baby and he found the angry girl quite fascinating. Later that girl was told that Tel is an alien word which they use for their prince. Now the prince has his eyes set on her and he will come back for her when she will turn twenty one. So the girl can wait for her ill fate and no one is allowed to help her in this situation. Taylor Vaughn has knitted an appealing story with a lot of characters involved.
The story has emotions like that of His to Steal: An Alien Overlords Novel and the sensation along with action reminds us of Him to Keep. Also, it is Clementine Dove’s voice that brings a lot of old memories to the mind.
