Drizzt the dark elf hasn’t been able to find the most needed thing in life i.e peace. He was not like other passionate people present around him who were in search of power to rule. All Drizzt has ever wanted is some peace in life i.e a world where he would not witness any misery or bloodshed. Ironically the more he tries to run away from all of this the more this darkness of evil follows him wherever he goes.
First, he came to the surface world to establish a new home for himself but the world beneath was not ready to let him live freely. The Underdark called him back and after a long struggle peace has come to the land. Many lives are lost during the process and those who have survived have received heavy scars which perhaps would never heal.
For Drizzt, the good news is that he can go back to the surface world where he would be free to live his life according to his ideas. R.A. Salvatore depicts war like Archmage and The Legacy but this is the kind of war that is not extending rather it is coming to an end with a hope that there would be peace in the future.
Victor Bevine also does not try to give an aggressive voice to Drizzt because he is exhausted now and needs some rest. The author does give him one last mission but it seems the main character was just not ready for all that after a hard struggle. The story ends with several things coming to an end in this trilogy but some things can be extended in the future.
