Hard to Handle

Hard to Handle is a contemporary romance novel. It is the opening title of The Play Hard Series which is written by K. Bromberg. She is an awesome writer and a bestselling one in the USA. She is known for writing sexy, romance novels which are dominated by strong emotions and extra-strong heroines. The heroes in her stories are mostly damaged who we all hate to love and love to hate. Hard to Score is a very good title from the author and so is her Hard to Lose book.

Emma Wilder and Jacob Morgan are the two narrators of this novel. Emma’s voice was quite unnatural with an upturned cadence. Jacob’s performance was quite good though.

The request at first looked to be quite simple. It was about the signing of a new athlete by the agency.  Later I discovered that the new athlete was the most in-demand play today in hockey. He was Hinter Maddox. He was a gifted player and very sexy too. He was right at the top of his game and he was the only person who has ever dared to break my heart.

If signing him is all that it takes to save our own family business then I am willing to compromise on my pride and to do what I am asked. But, the time when it became evident that all of his uncharacteristic antics off the ice were a sign of something weird and deeper about him. That kept things quite professional among us and became quite complicated. But, I knew better things to cross the line. I would never date my client ever. This also includes him.

It is a slow-paced and long story. It could have been a much better book if it was shorter. On top of that, the robotic voice of the female narrator made this audiobook an even tougher experience.
