Martians prove to be real in this book by James S.A. Corey and not only they are real but they have also started a war with mankind. Luckily the mankind has been able to keep things going till now. The war situation is the background which the author has described because the sixteen year old David Draper has other issues to deal with. David is concerned about the war but he is actually doing nothing in this regard rather he looks more worried about Leelee.
The girl has gone missing all of a sudden and David thinks that she needs his help. Also the girl is the only person David cares for. The boy is not an ordinary person himself, he has been blessed with a gift which currently he is not using for any positive gain. David has been creating something special for a drug dealer for a very long time and till now no one really knows about the thing.
His personal life has been kept secret from the rest of the world. Now David is shocked that the drug dealer for whom he has been working for all these years is actually behind the disappearance of Leelee. Bobbie Draper appears as the next primary character in the list which Erik Davies narrates.
Bobbie is David’s aunt and she most of the time is found acting weird. Amazing intergalactic stuff made the author famous especially after books like Babylon’s Ashes and Leviathan Wakes. This book is another one for the collection of the old fans who love to hear about the personal life of the heroes. The war between the Earth and Mars is there all the time but it is not focused on all occasions.
