First Fitz was hired to find Prince Dutiful and then he was made to protect him and his secrets. All the time Fitz is worried about the kingdom that he loves so much and that’s why he has remained loyal to the throne since the beginning. Now he has risen in prestige and has a place in the queen’s court which is quite an honor for him.
Along with him is the man who has taught him everything i.e Chade. Together the two are like two pillars of the court that are given the duty to protect the land at every cost. Fitz is sent along with Prince Dutiful on another mission this time and if that mission comes out to be a success then the prince will get his stronghold back on the land.
To bring Narcheska on his side the prince has to bring the head of a dragon that is frozen in the ice for a very long time. That is the demand of Narcheska and if it is not fulfilled then the prince will not get the support that he is looking for. Robin Hobb has put Fritz along with the prince like always and the story later gets linked to Fitz more than the prince.
The Farseer: Assassin’s Apprentice and Royal Assassin were more serious as compared to this book. Because of the comic sense in the novel, the narrator James Langton has also kept a rhythmic voice for it. We don’t observe the voice going strict or stern anywhere in the novel thus it is a good book for the kids as well.
