Harlan Coben knits wonderfully and there are no loose ends for you. The story is compact and the cohesion among the scenes shows the true greatness of the writer. Meet Maya in the story who used to be special ops pilot once.
Still, the woman happens to be a busy single mother. Her husband died a short while ago and due to her job, she hired a nanny for her two year old daughter. One day when she returned to her home, she saw something odd in the possession of the nanny.
The nanny of her daughter had taken picture of her daughter with her husband while he was playing with her in the morning. This alerts Maya because her husband had died a few weeks ago and if he was alive then what was the need of faking his death during the war? The narration of the story is done by January LaVoy who tells us how Maya reacts when she sees the picture. Maya thinks that her husband has deceived her once and she will not allow him to do the same once again.
Stay Close or Hold Tight, it does not matter which book a person wants to compare with this suspense story because the energy will always be the same. The secrets of the past are the most interesting thing which is described here in layers. All of us want to know about Maya’s husband and the reason that he has kept himself hidden from his family.
