The novel will make you feel that on so many occasions crimes of serious nature are avoided and the criminal is allowed to slip away in this way. One day she got a partial manuscript written by an anonymous author and right from the beginning, Maris knew that it was a hit item. The address of the author was there with the manuscript so Maris thought that meeting the author in person would be the right way to get this book in complete detail. Maris goes to Georgia where the author named Parker Evans was living on a ruined cotton plantation.

The man was in a wheelchair and he starts telling Maris everything about the story in detail. The story was about two men and women who hire a boat for the purpose of sex and only one of them is going to make it out of the trip alive in the end. The story keeps on getting more and more intense and the narration by Victor Slezak improves accordingly.

After a while, Maris thinks that she is connected to the story in a much stronger way and she has investigated a lot of things about her husband. Sandra Brown throws the character of Maris into deep psychological drama in the story and she has to rise high if she wants to survive. Perhaps Two Alone and Overkill were not that much personal because of which the author has tried to come up with this kind of novel. Sandra has succeeded in the attempt for sure and that is good news for the fans.
