Divine Evil

Divine Evil is a suspenseful mystery thriller. It is written by Nora Roberts. She is mainly known for her romance novels of all sorts but she has also done some exceptional work in mystery thrillers. If one of her good ones has to be named here then The Becoming will make a very nice choice. If you look even further then The Choice would also be a very interesting read.

The audio narration of this book is done by Kimberly Farr. The characters in the narrator’s voice were very believable and easily distinguishable as well. Those also included the sad memories linked with the suicide of her father.

Clare Kimball was a sculptor. 10 years ago, she fled Maryland. Her ambition was to take the world of art by storm. She then became a highly celebrated artist of her generation. But, there could be no success that could conceal the many nightmares which used to haunt her. Clare with all the success of her life left behind all that for facing all her demons.

Cameron Rafferty, the sheriff of Emmitsboro, Maryland loved Clare a lot all through his high school days. As she has made a return back to her hometown so they both developed a bond with each other that became stronger with every passing day. But then, the past life of Clare came chasing her after with a vengeance. It rocked the entire town with a brutal murder which was linked with her return.

There was nothing wrong with the story. However, a few characters were a bit flimsy or maybe, a bit too stereotypical. The bad guys were easy to pick right from the start, but some of the others came as a total shock.
