Defiant Queen is a contemporary romance novel. It is the penultimate book in The Mount Trilogy. The book is authored by Meghan March who writes excellent contemporary romance and sometimes romantic suspense novels as well. One of her most appreciated books is Real Good Love. Another worth mentioning is the title of the author includes Real Good Man.
The audio narration of Defiant Queen novel is done by Grace Grant and Joe Arden. The male narrator was outstanding while the female narrator was only just acceptable.
I was supposed to be his toy, his entertainment, or a source of joy. It was more like payment on a debt. I always used to tell myself that I hate him a lot but then every time he walked into my room; I get betrayed by my body. How I could want him and fear him at the very same moment? They always told me that he would soon mess with my head and make it go to war with my body. But I never imagined that it would turn out to be complete anarchy. I should have known things a lot better. At the time when Mount was involved in the matter, there were no rules at all. I would never look to surrender and I would not show any signs of weakness. I would always stand my ground and would make it right out of that bargain with my soul and heart intact.
As usual and as expected from Meghan March, the subject title also ended with a cliffhanger. This and the last book of the trilogy could easily have been one. Nonetheless, if you are a fan of Meghan March then this is a recommended book to try.
