Defending Chloe

Defending Chloe is a contemporary romantic suspense novel. It is the second book in the Mountain Mercenaries novel series. The subject title is written by Susan Stoker. She did a great job with the writing of her Finding Jodelle novel. Another novel that did well for the author is The Protector.

The audio narration of Defending Chloe novel is done by Stella Bloom. She has a very sweet voice which was the need of the characters of this book.

Gorgeous women were not known to simply stumble onto the remote property of Ronan Cross.  But this one, victimized and vulnerable needed the kind of help that only Ronan could offer. It tells a great story that made his blood boil almost as hot as his need to fully protect her.

Since the death of her father, Chloe Harris has become more of a prisoner. Her brother was a flesh peddler and part of the Denver Mafia who was forcing her to sell her body. That was for the endgame that Chloe never saw coming at all – It was all about control over a huge fortune. Running away was her only way out and then straight into the arms of the hard-bodied man who she could easily trust.

Defending Chloe could rain punishment right down on the Mountain Mercenaries. Her brother had very strong Mob connections and the entire local police were in his pocket. But Ronan still had the edge over the loyalty of his teammates.

Defending Chloe is a very enjoyable, light love story. You will like this book more because of the excellent narrator whose subtle inflections and consistent accents would impress you a lot.
