The two narrators of this book are Lance Greenfield and Erin Mallon. They have done a phenomenal job and will keep you on the edge of your seat. You’ll look forward to every next scene because it is just that good. Erin has nailed the female character. Lance has also been able to capture the male’s part very well, displaying his alpha nature along with the softer side. Greta has given up hope of love. She wants peace in life. That is why she comes to a little town in Nebraska. She doesn’t believe in hope and dreams. All she wants is a perfect place for herself and her brother.
Hixon Drake is a small-town sheriff. He has gone through a tough divorce and doesn’t want to get in a mess again. He just wants to protect and provide for his kids. Things change when he meets Greta though. The connection couldn’t be any stronger but the timing couldn’t be worse. Greta wants to hope for a future with Hix. Everything changes when the murder occurs. Now, the sheriff has to learn to trust again, and Greta has to dream again. Not only is their love life concerned, but a loose serial killer.
This is the story of two people who meet and form an amazing connection. The timing couldn’t be worse though. Thus follows a crazy story filled with heart-wrenching twists and turns. It certainly lives up to its name – complicated.
