Cocky bastard is a standalone romance novel. It is written by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland. When they write together then it is always a steamy hot novel that the audience get to enjoy a lot. The other better novels from Penelope that are worth mentioning here are Just One Year and The Anti-Boyfriend.
The narration for Cocky Bastard is done by Michelle Ferguson and Aaron Abano. The narrator probably had a tough time with their dialogues. There was too much of dialogue and that forced them to have too much inflection and voice changes. It was annoying at times
He was part of my wildest fantasies rather than being a rest stop somewhere in Nebraska. Chance was a cocky and sexy Australian. He was the last of all to be expected to run into my cross country drive. He made a deal with me when my car broke down. The next thing was that we both were traveling together and spent some sexually tense times in the hotels. There were also some unexpected detours. That meant to be an ordinary road trip for me but it turned into a great adventure of a lifetime. It was all great fun but soon things got intense. I wanted Chance but he wasn’t making any move at all. There was something that was holding him back.
The first part of this book is immensely interesting and the second one not as such. However, the overall impact of this book is nice and you would love to have it in audio. The narration could have been a lot better as it was annoying sometimes, especially when there was too much dialogue.
