Some things cannot be hidden for a very long time and those things can bounce up even after a span of decades. The same thing is brought to the surface in this book by Michael Connelly. It was New Year’s Day which mean that everyone was planning to enjoy the pleasures of the night and wake up in the morning to welcome the arrival of the new day.
A dog while wandering here and there pulled out a bone from the earth for some fun but this unlocked a terrible mystery along with it. The bone was not of an animal rather it was from a human body and when the police dug deep, they got terrified because the grave was linked to a crime that took place two decades ago.
Harry Bosch has solved many dead cases but this was too old and there was a chance that the criminal was not in that area anymore. Harry also gets emotionally attached to the case because it made him remember some old tags of his past life.
A rookie cop turns up on the case and she forces Harry to give time to the case because she thinks that the killer is still there. The Concrete Blonde: Harry Bosch Series, Book 3, and Desert Star were linked to the present scenario and here Harry digs the past right up and attracts trouble towards him. With Len Cariou’s voice, this has turned into a fabulous book for all lovers of thrillers. If someone thinks that old cases get dead then listen to the book just once after which your perception will be changed.
