Tales about the vampire hunter are the best for teenagers and adults who like action with some bloodshed. The bloodshed has been there all the time because Laurell K. Hamilton has painted books with a lot of vampires and shapeshifters. Once again a rogue vampire has come to the town and he has an entire band of vampires with him. The plan is simple i.e eat up the humans and take over the world.
Jean-Claude is the Master Vampire of the city and he has been living in complete harmony with the human world for a long time. He does not want the rogue group of vampires to take over and he thinks that he cannot handle this powerful group alone. So he establishes contact with Anita and he thinks that she will help him like always as they are on the same side. Anita on the other hand has some personal problems to deal with on this occasion and she is not hundred percent in the war.
Richard Zeeman, the new teacher in the town has caught Anita’s attention and the two are in a nice relationship for a very short time. Anita thinks that the two deserve some peaceful time which can only be achieved if the vampires attacking the town are disposed of.
There was talking about love when we listened to Guilty Pleasures and Crimson Death but in those two stories, love was not completely linked to the human world. Here the little change is tackled nicely by the narrator Kimberly Alexis. The narrator hasn’t changed the tone or style, rather the pace is a bit controlled because of the love scenes that need a slow pace.
