Marie Lu is a US-based writer of young adult fiction. The Legend series is her most formidable work with novels set in a militarized and dystopian future. The novels of this series are now adapted for a movie as well to be made. Marie Lu is only 36 years old and has already given powerful novels such as Legend and Prodigy.
Champion is the third chapter in the Legend novel series. The narration of this chapter is done together by Steven Kaplan and Mariel Stem. You might take some time to get used to their voices and then it will be a roller coaster ride.
For the people of the Republic, both Day and June have sacrificed a lot. Their country in the current time is at the edge of a new existence. June is back in the Republic while working within the elite groups of the government. The Princeps Elect is her designation there and she has been appointed to a top-level military position. But, no one could have predicted that she would reunite with Day someday.
A plague outbreak resulted in a lot of panic across the Republic. It happened at a time when a peace treaty was forthcoming. War was looming over the Republic. The new strain of the deadly plague is worse than ever. June is the only one with the key to the defense of the country. But, saving the country means to ask the love of her life to give up anything and everything he has.
Champion is the last book of the Legend trilogy and probably the best one as well. It is loved more than the other two because of the suspense it has. The ending still had some margin for improvement.
