Just stay still and keep the story progressing in Cynthia Holloway’s sparkling voice and you are going to get a rollercoaster ride. Anita Blake’s stories have been moving on for decades and Laurell K. Hamilton has not altered the personality of this bounty hunter because she was perfect from the beginning. Initially, she was alone on the hunt and then she slowly started gathering friends and family.
Now she is in the right place i.e in the middle of Jean-Claude and Micah. One is the master vampire and the other is the leopard shape-shifter. Both have stolen her heart and at this stage in life, she thinks that she has become less human as her inner nature is revealed up to the maximum level.
She still supports the humans but in the form of Jean-Claude, she has a relationship with the vampire world too. An old rival of Jean-Claude is coming to the surface now and he wants to take over his domain of Jean. Anita must make sure that this never happens because if this happens then it would be bad news for humans as well.
Crimson Death and Smolder are lovely books by the same author as well and all you have to do as a listener is sit back and relax while the story will be poured into your ears in a clear voice. The dark secrets of different people mentioned in the story will keep on making the story more interesting. One thing should be kept in mind as the story gets darker it does not remain suitable for the children because it has a certain element of lust involved in it.
