This is one of the longest running series by the author Laurell K. Hamilton. The plot is simple i.e there is one vampire hunter against the entire vampire race. She has the potential to deal with anything that comes her way. Every now and then she has been given targets and tasks which were out of her reach in the beginning but she didn’t run away from the spot because it is not her style.
Standing firm and delivering at the right time is something that she does best in her life. On one occasion she faced the vampires who didn’t have any issue with bright daylight. This shocked her at first but in the end, she finally found a way to deal with that category as well. Smolder brought a major fan following for the author and this one is bound to break all those records of the past.
A different thing is happening this time i.e Anita Blake is saving her prey instead of killing it. The thing is simple i.e she does not want anyone else to get to her prey so instead of catching the prey she has to save it first so that her competitor does not get to it first. Only Crimson Death was with such variations in the past and here this one also comes in that line.
We are seeing a different attitude in Anita as she is running toward her prey instead of running after it. She wants to save it first before hunting it down so it is more like a competition which we will observe. Narrator Kimberly Alexis makes sure that all the words or the complete story reach the ears of the listeners without any hindrance.
