Blade Bound

Blade Bound is the 13th chapter in the Chicagoland Vampires novel series. It is a book written by Chloe Neil. She is the bestselling author on multiple platforms including USA Today and the New York Times. She is known for her expertise in paranormal romance and urban fantasy. Apart from Chicagoland Vampires, her other well-known series is Devil’s Isle. If we check at the individual novels’ level then her best books are Some Girls Bite and Friday Night Bites.

Sophie Eastlake in the role of a narrator is good to produce unique voices to differentiate different characters. The tone inflections by the narrators were also perfect and that made the experience of the listeners quite overwhelming.

Merit since the time of her brutal attack has now stood as the protector and Sentinel of the Cadogan House of Chicago. She has the uncontrolled ability to transform into a vampire. Merit has defended the Windy City from the dark forces time and again. It was all done with the support of Ethan Sullivan, who was her lover and liege both.

When Merit is attacked by a vampire and the Cadogan House is infiltrated then she and Ethan came to know about the real danger. It was much closer than they both could have ever imagined. The attacking vampire appeared to be under the spell of some real dark magic.

Blade Bound novel has a predictable pattern but still, it was very much enjoyable. The listeners complained about the ending of this novel with clandestine prophecies regarding the future. It was a good way by the author to keep people interested in the series, but still, the ending could have been a little better than what it has.
