Beat

Beat is a contemporary romance novel authored by Vi Keeland. Keeland is a bestselling author who has appeared on numerous lists like New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling lists. Her books have sold millions of copies and have been translated into over 20 different languages. You can listen to her novel The Invitation. Furthermore, you can check out The Rivals which is a typical novel of her style. Keeland has been nominated for many awards, and she won the Australian Romance Readers Award in the category of Erotic Romance.

The narrators Sebastian York and Molly Glenmore did a great job with this book. Dual narrators help when the story is told from multiple point-of-views. It would have been better if the male actor did all the male parts and the female voice actor did all of the female parts.

Lucky is part owner of a bar that hosts famous musicians who make unscheduled appearances. She gives a drink to Flynn and both are immediately drawn towards each other. Lucky had to resist the charms of the guy when he sang and asked her out.

The next time Lucky and Flynn come across is when she is in the arms of Dylan Ryder. The worst thing is that his band and Dylan’s rock band are supposed to go on tour with each other. Now, Lucky finds herself in a hard spot. When she starts falling for the other guy, that’s when things get ugly.

While this book does involve some cheating, it is not to the degree that you start hating on the main character. It is enough to induce some realism in the book. It breathes fresh air into the characters as they are not perfect and make mistakes.
