Beartown Audiobook
Beartown is near the verge of extinction and not many believe that the town will survive for a very long time. There was a time when the town was a quiet place and it was developing as well but after a very long time the encroaching started and it is taking over. There is an old ice rink in this small town and it has been there since the birth of the town.
People still believe that the ice rink can save the town once again because the junior ice hockey team of the town is training there. They have qualified for the semi-finals at the national level which means that if they win the game then the town will become famous on the grand stage. These hopes start shattering when an incident linked to a young girl takes everyone by surprise.
The semi-final and the fate of the town get at stake and the people come together after a long time because they know that they will be thrown in a pit if the team fails. The people of the town have a lot to think and they must act fast in order to look for the one who is behind the incident. Al the folks have some differences among them and they have been hiding a few serious secrets for many years which they have to bring to light if they want to survive.
Fredrik Backman went straight to the target in The Winners and A Man Called Ove, the author has wasted a lot of time in this one either. Backman’s main target was to keep everyone active in the story and narrator Marin Ireland has put an effort into the same thing too.
