Two individuals cross paths in this story and there is a sexual appeal in them at the first glance. The man shows his inner desires directly to Eva but she tries to keep their relationship professional only. The name of the man is Gideon Cross who becomes the head of the project which is assigned to Eva.
Eva was new in the city and she wanted to prove that she can survive without the money of her stepfather so she decided to start this job. When she met Gideon something strange started taking over her mind and she wanted to keep herself away from the man who looked charming for sure. She didn’t want to establish a relationship because there were things in her past that she wanted to hide from Gideon and also from the rest of the world too.
Sylvia Day finally describes the life of a girl whose childhood was scary because of the abusive behavior of an adult. She tried to get it out of her system but she wasn’t able to do that. That past took over her mind so much that she wasn’t able to establish any kind of relationship in the future either.
Gideon had some demons in his past too but he shows free will to express his love and lust for the girl. Eve of Darkness and Eve of Destruction is close to the stature of this book. However, the characters which the author has portrayed here are appealing and heart touching. Don’t forget that this book is in the voice of Jill Redfield which means that there would be no slowing down at any level.
