Ambush
Ambush is a suspenseful mystery thriller novel. It is the 11th chapter in the A Michael Bennet Thriller novel series. The title is written by James Patterson and coauthored by James O. Born. James Patterson is a huge name for writing excellent suspense, mystery, and crime thrillers. His Along Came a Spider (25th Anniversary Edition) novel is a testament to this. Moreover, the Blowback novel of the author will also be worth your time.
The audio narration of Ambush is done by Danny Mastrogiorgio. The narration can be best described as simply superb!Michael Bennet was the only detective who stood in the way of a couple of lethal cartels. Those were fighting hard for the multimillion-dollar opioid trade in New York City. They knew very well where Bennet and his family used to live.
Then came an anonymous tip about a crime, which was nothing more than a setup in the Upper Manhattan area. An officer in that incident was taken down and despite all the strong efforts of the attackers, it was not Michael Bennet. The top cop of New York was not the only one at risk. One child of Bennet sustained a mysterious injury and it was followed by a series of murders, where each had a distinct signature. The same alerted Bennet about the presence of a pro killer there who had a flair for disguise. Bennet maximized his top sources and investigators in the case, and all of them fanned out all across the five boroughs…
The story is good but it was way too short. This didn’t go that well with the audience, despite being the narration so good.
