A Stroke of Midnight

Meredith has lived most of her life in the human world and people know her as the one who solves almost every case that is thrown at her in Los Angeles. Her current appearance in the human world is just a camouflage because from the inside she is a princess from the other world. The throne awaits her just like it did for her ancestors before her for hundreds of years. The human part of the princess is changing quickly and she is aware of what she has to do once she has embraced her full powers.

But there are dangers and threats which she along with her family has to face if they want to keep the throne. There are assassins from the faerie world who want Meredith dead because she is the next heir to the throne which is currently ruled by her aunt who is the Queen of Air and Darkness.

The enemies are also trying to overthrow the queen as well because they think that she is weak now and might not be able to protect the throne in front of a full-fueled attack. For this purpose, Meredith is also called to the land where she meets Mistral who happens to be the Master of Storm. It is in the air that Meredith’s cousin Cel is trying to get rid of her so that he can get the throne once the queen is defeated.

Laurell K. Hamilton has written this multilayered story with supreme accuracy. A Terrible Fall of Angels and Rafael also is evidence of the author’s genius. Whatever the author writes becomes legendary because he never loses control over the story just like the narrator Laural Merlington who has shown true colors in this performance.
