The struggle for the Iron Throne has started and everyone wants to get his hands on the throne as the one sitting on the throne would be treated as the true king. The competition has begun and men of all categories have come to play the Game of Thrones. The kingdom is secured by a wall of ice so it is expected that no enemy will interfere with the game as winter is approaching. The expectations of the people are proved wrong when the demonic forces start appearing from all sides.
George R.R. Martin has added a lot of characters at the start of the book so there is a chance that the listener would feel a bit giddy but the feeling would be short lived. Also dealing with a lot of characters was troublesome for Roy Dotrice too because he was the one who had to provide a perfect voice for all the characters.
Not only there is a variety in characters but these characters also have different personalities. Some of the characters are noble and then there is a huge list of those who have evil desires stored in their hearts. Everyone wants power so badly that he can commit any kind of sin for it.
A Clash of Kings and A Storm of Swords would become your next book for sure because of the deep themes which mesmerize you at night. The lust for power and the greed to achieve everything is described in a way like never before in this story. Evil lurks from all sides and getting the Iron Throne does not remain a child’s play anymore.
I don’t know who the girl narrating is but she does a better job than Roy Dotrice.
