The city of Sethanon was destroyed and turned to ashes long ago, a new battle starts in the same place now between the Order and Chaos. The two groups have fought with each other on many occasions and this could very well be their last fight. After this fight one of the groups will perish completely for sure. The dark forces are rising and the Kingdom of Isles has no chance against this upcoming threat.
The fate of mankind rests on the shoulder of one man i.e the master magician known as Pug. He has gained much power now and it was Pug who has saved the day on many occasions. Pug’s sole powers might not be enough to save the land and its people on these occasions and he has to look for something special to turn the course of the war.
Master of Furies and Magician: Apprentice also showed the rise of the underdog, here Pug is not the underdog but he surely lacks the power to stop the invading enemy. To defeat the enemy, some secrets of the past should be dug to get to the bottom of the trouble which has been causing havoc for such a long time.
Raymond E. Feist writes with a special kind of might and because of this, there is a special strength in the words of his characters. Nicholas Guy Smith has uttered each word with equal strength and has paid a lot of attention to every character. We cannot say that the narrator preferred only one character in the story, he treated even the villains with equal care.
