A Court of Thorns and Roses

A Court of Thorns and Roses is a romantic novel from the teen and YA category. It is the first installment in a brand new series titled the same as this novel, A Court of Thorns and Roses. The novel is written by Sarah J. Maas. She had her debut novel in 2012 and then there is no looking back for Sarah. She gave some brilliant novels over the past few years such as House of Earth and Blood and A Court of Mist and Fury.

Jennifer Ikeda narrated this novel in audio form. She gave a complete performance with a subtle accent, expression, and tonal quality. Jennifer is one of the key reasons that followers of this novel enjoyed it to some extent.

Feyre is a 19 years old huntress. She killed a wolf in the forest. Someone with the impression of a beast arrived on the scene to ask for retribution. She was taken to a mysterious magical land which she only heard about from the legends. She also finds out that her abductor is Tamlin, who is not an animal. But, he is an immortal and lethal faerie who had ruled this world once. As she explored more in his state, she started to develop some really strong feelings for Tamlin. But, there is some definite shadow growing all over the faerie land. Feyre at her end must find some solid way to stop that from happening or she might doom Tamlin and his world forever.

The first half of this novel was reasonable and then this book is going nowhere. There are certain loopholes in the plot that will annoy listeners. Thanks to the narrator, Jennifer for making it worth listening for a few hours.
