Waterdeep is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is the third book in The Avatar novel series. The book is written by Troy Denning. He is a talented writer of fantasy and science fiction books. He has got more than a couple of dozen novels to his name and one of his better ones is Last Light. The author did a marvelous job with the writing of the Crucible: The Trial of Cyric the Mad.
The audio narration of the Waterdeep novel is done by Nicole Greevy. It was just an average performance where the narrator didn’t have as many voices as the characters in the story.
The story of this novel starts within the streets of the Waterdeep. It was a place where danger was known to lurk there around every corner of it, and as the avatars of the different gods look for the Tablets of Fate.
Cyric along with the god of death named Myrkul plotted to capture the Midnight. The plan was also to twist the Tablets of Fate to their very own gloomy end. All that would come imperiling the existence of the Faern. That was the place where the fate of the entire world would be decided and written. Moreover, a completely new pantheon of the gods was destined to rise from here into heaven.
First of all, the majority of the followers of this series found Waterdeep to be better than the first two chapters in the series. There could well be a need to scale down the scope of this story a bit while still remembering the entire campaign of where the characters in the world are located. The narrator was excellent with just some minor issues of mispronunciation.
