Viridian Gate Online: Dead Man’s Tide is the second book in The Illusionist Series. This science fiction and fantasy novel is written by D. J. Bodden and co-authored by James Hunter.
They both write amazing science fiction and fantasy stories together and another good one from them is Viridian Gate Online: Inquisitor’s Foil. D. J. Bodden has also written a few good science fiction and fantasy titles on his own where one of them is The Starborn Heir.
The audio narration of the book is done by Daniel Thomas May. He did it pretty well and the listeners enjoyed the way he brought the characters to life.
Viridian Gate Online was something special and a lot more than only a game. For Alan Campbell, it became his whole world.
Alan was recently deceased and was also a novice-stricken illusionist. He was forced hard to flee for his life. He needed to have a lot of time to deal with his loss, which was both in IRL and the game. But, at first, he was supposed to flee from his crazy ex. She was Thalia Daceran, the deceitful Firebrand.
On his way to get revenge and also to ensure safety, Alan would team up with the Imperial spymaster, Titus. The others involved in the allies were a crew of commandos, pirates, and as well as a shape-shifting Mimic who had taste for blood. His path took them to Wyrdtide. It was a gaslit city that was concealed in the mist and was ruled by the dark demigods.
This book ensured a great continuation of the series with a fantastic addition to the VGO universe. The characters are adorable which became even more likable with the excellent vocal acting of Daniel Thomas May.
