Alpharius: Head of the Hydra is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is the 14th chapter in Primarchs: The Horus Heresy novel series. It is written by Mike Brooks. The author is magnificent when it comes to writing space opera or science fiction and fantasy novels. Rites of Passage is a very engaging and excellently written book by Mike Brooks. Perhaps, Brutal Kunnin’ will prove to be an even better book from the writer.
Jonathan Keeble is the narrator of this book. He is a seasoned performer who has several audiobooks with his outstanding performance. His selection for this audiobook as the narrator is truly justified as his voice suited the characters a lot. The performance as a whole was stunning.
Legends proliferated of the infamous or the glorious deeds of the sons of the emperor. Still, there was hardly anything known about the Alpharius, who was considered to be the most mysterious of all. The lord of the Alpha Legion was considered to be completely unparalleled in the stunning art of mystification. Such are his many amazing gifts about deceit and secrecy that even his mighty discovery went on to remain an enigma for a long time. But, when the story opened up from the mouth of the serpent, then where would the truth start and the lies end?
The book didn’t live up to the expectations of the listeners at all. It was quite slow and somehow boring as well. Even such a powerful narration by Jonathan Keeble couldn’t make it any better. Overall, it was a disappointment and quite unlike many other good chapters in this series.
Honestly kind of bizarre the way you keep interjecting your personal opinions as if they’re A) remotely relevant and B) somehow a consensus on how most people feel. This book seems to actually be pretty well liked, especially in the 40klore sub on reddit. This is the first time I’ve seen anyone say it’s not good as that doesn’t seem to be that average opinion at all.
