If a person has read or listened to Randi Darren’s works before, then he would have an idea about the themes which the author usually touches. The story is about Sam who is an Incubus i.e the one who can grant you anything that you desire but in return you have to give something. A person can fulfill any type of need whether it is emotional or related to the physical world, with Sam’s help. In return, Sam demands a few days, hours, or months of a person’s life during which he had to do what Sam orders.
The proposal was surely captivating but all of it has become a matter of the past because Sam is not free anymore, an old businessman has made him a prisoner and there is no way he can escape. For a long time, Sam has been in this strange kind of prison and he has tried many ways to get out of this dungeon but to no avail.
Finally one day he finds a strange passage that is provided to him and he thinks that going through it will end all his worries. On the other side of the portal, more horrible things emerge for Sam and perhaps this time it is he who has to make a bargain.
Between Wild Wastes and Incubus Inc., Book 2 the second one is more beneficial for the listeners of this book. The other book is the first part of another series which would be a very good option if a listener wants to start something new after ending this novel narrated by Andrea Parsneau. The novel discusses the fate of Sam all the time and other characters just come and go.
