Carolyn Morris hit the ball out of the park with her narration. She didn’t lack in any department and hardly left any room to complain. Her portrayal of the heroine was also exceptional.

A lady isn’t supposed to attend duels, she doesn’t ride astride, and she doesn’t smoke cheroot. She also doesn’t fire a pistol and never gambles in a men’s club.

Lady Calpurnia Hartwell has followed all the rules and it hasn’t gotten her anywhere. She is still unmarried and unsatisfied. She decides to break all the rules so that she can live the life of pleasure she has missed.

Callie will need a partner to do all those things, someone like Gabriel St. John, the Marquess of Ralston. He is devilishly handsome and charming and his wicked reputation is only overshadowed by his dazzling smile.

Callie has to be careful; otherwise, she is bound to break one of the most sensitive rules out there, the one that states the pleasure-seekers shouldn’t fall in love.

This is a romantic book with a plethora of steamy sex scenes that excite our imagination and passions. The characters are amazing, especially the female protagonist. She isn’t your typical beauty, but she forms a place in our hearts because of her personality.
