Fighting has been the life of Drizzt and he has started enjoying these expeditions in which he finds himself regularly. He has made several friends and those too with extraordinary powers but this has added to his worries. Most of the time his near and dear ones get into trouble and he has to come back to the battleground once again. Also, threats from the Underdark have not allowed him to rest a single moment since the day he left those dark dungeons.
Dwarves of Mithral Hall are gain confronted by Drizzt and all of it is not good news from him and his friends. Drizzt is missing Wulfgar in this battle but he has Bruenor on his side this time. R.A. Salvatore again makes the war go bigger and bigger in proportion. On different occasions, the dark elf faces different troubles which pinch him hard this time but he does not possess a habit of going back on his feet. Victor Bevine had full command of narration during The Legend of Drizzt: The Collected Stories and Homeland.
At this point, the narrator has become an expert in the series and he never misses a chance to decorate the story further with an impressive style. War is not a grand one in this part because the world is not blowing up apart.
It is more of a personal thing for Drizzt and his friend standing close to him in the fight. Also when the mission ends we don’t see the author establishing a lot of connections in the story for the further parts which means that perhaps we would not see a lot of related things in the next parts.
