Christine is a critically acclaimed author of over fifty novels and seven series who hardly requires any introduction. Tom Stechschulte is the narrator of this book. He has done a satisfactory job with all the characters. He varies his voice so that the audience can differentiate between the characters. He adds to the listening experience on multiple levels.

Gator Fontenot is a Cajun GhostWalker who is a member of the Special Forces paranormal squad. He can’t refuse an urgent response to save Iris Johnson, also known as “Flame”. She is a victim of the same experiments that were performed on Gator. She possesses the same psychic and physical powers as him. As she is unleashed, she becomes a flame-haired weapon of uncanny destructive power. She wants revenge against the sultry bayous of New Orleans. She also seems to be hunted by a shadowy assassin.

As Gator comes in, he has to reel in Iris so that they can prevent unwanted catastrophe. However, when two people have faced betrayals in the past, trusting the passion brewing between them seems like an unwise choice. Either that or one of them is playing a dangerous game of seduction for ulterior motives.

This is a fine novel for all extents and purposes. The characters are strong and we find ourselves rooting for them. The sex scenes are a bit over the top but hot as usual.
