The Hot One is a romance novel written by Lauren Blakeley. This is a tale about first love and second chances. Lauren has some other novels that should be checked out, e.g. Good with His Hands and How to Get Lucky.
Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt have narrated this book. Objectively, the only thing good about this audiobook is the great narration. It might be just its saving grace because the other aspects of the book are just plain repetitive and boring. Zachary did a great job with Tyler’s character and Andi is flawless as always.
Tyler and Delaney used to date in college. They were crazy in love with each other. Still, Tyler wanted to pursue a career in law and thus he broke up with her. He thought it would interfere with his goals so he never contacted her again. The time they did spend, left a mark on Delaney. He was his fantasy man and she kept thinking about him.
Fast forward almost a decade; he sees her running through a park. All memories come rushing back to him. He wants her back and the best thing he can do is get naked in front of her. He does so and thus the fantasies of Delaney are fulfilling in front of her eyes. She is confused about whether she should stay away or give in to her fantasies. This might be her best chance or worst mistake ever.
Lauren has utilized the same old formula that she uses. This time it’s not going to stick. We have heard that story before an intelligent and hot girl who can’t stop thinking about her ex. We have heard the story before of the guy being sculpted and gorgeous like Adonis. Also, the idea of him taking his clothes off and her forgiving him is absurd on so many levels.
