“The Black Dagger Brotherhood” is the series about vampires who are not using their fangs to suck blood rather they are in search of true love and a permanent relation. One thing was very important in this series which was to keep the characters of the vampire lusty all the time. If J.R. Ward had portrayed them like innocent lads then the grandeur of the demon world would have been shattered. Although the vampires are portrayed as the male who are true to their loved ones but their lusty nature is not curtailed at all to keep the original nature of the creature alive all the time. A Warm Heart in Winter and Dark Lover are examples of this special feature always added by Ward. Phury is in search of love or perhaps the Primale wants something or someone to live for because he has lost interest in life completely.
At this stage in life he gets attracted towards a female who is not linked to his specie and going after her might cause a lot of trouble to his side and him too. But his hearts aches for her as is evident by the narration of Jim Frangione. He just cannot leave her and for this he is ready to go against all the rules of his community and whether the girl likes it or not he is coming for her. Fighting against everyone including grieves and sorrows of the past the Primale puts his strong foot down to fight. He will fight till his last breath now but the question still remains that whether the female also loves her with the same intensity.
