Succubus Shadows is the fifth book in the Georgina Kincaid series written by Richelle Mead. It is a dark fantasy, romance, vampire, horror, and urban fantasy series. Richelle is known for her various fantasy series like Vampire Academy, Dark Swan, and Bloodlines. She has been nominated for numerous awards and has even won a few like Romantic Times Reviewers’ Choice Best Book Awards. You can check out the first novel of her hit series – Bloodlines. Since the novel follows Georgina Kincaid and is written in the first perspective, a strong narrator is needed to convey the character properly. Thankfully, Elisabeth Rodgers is the right person for the tall task. She makes the perfect Georgina. At this point, it’s hard to imagine anyone else portraying the main character.
This book follows Georgina, a succubus with a heart who works at a local book store in Emerald City Books & Café. She has immense powers like seduction, immortality, and shape-shifting into any human that she wants. She walks in heels that cripple the hearts of mere mortals who are child’s-play for her.
However, having to plan the wedding of her ex is another story entirely. The fact that Seth is marrying another person is hard to swallow in the first place. She has to run around the city trying out bridesmaid dresses, which is much worse. Georgina must find out who she can trust and who she cannot. If she can’t, Hell might not be the worst place to spend eternity.
Even though the book is based on teens, even adults can enjoy it owing to the hot material. The narrator is also terrific and she gets us involved in the relationship of Seth and Georgina.
