Sapphire Flames is the fourth chapter in Hidden Legacy (Andrews). It is a paranormal romance novel and written by Ilona Andrews. It is the pen name of a husband-wife authors’ duo who have given some thought-provoking, intense and enjoyable paranormal novels. It will be a fantastic idea for paranormal romance lovers to check out their Emerald Blaze novel. Magic Bites is another novel by Ilona Andrews to look for.
The narration from Emily Rankin in this novel is quite flat. The voice was monotonous and it made the well-written characters feel flat as well.
Catalina Baylor is now a prime, which is considered as the highest rank for the magic-user. She is also the head of the house in the world magic is known to be the key to all the wealth and power of the world. But when the sister and mother of her friend are killed, then Catalina goes all out to risk her safety and reputation for untying the mystery.
There were some serious and very powerful forces behind the scenes. One among them is Alessandro Sagredo. He is the prime from Italy and was also a teenage crush of Catalina before. The real motives of Alessandro are quite unclear, despite being very unpredictable and dangerous. But, he was attracted to Catalina just like a moth is attracted to a flame.
This was not a typical Ilona Andrews novel. It was quite different. It is a good tale about relationship development. It is also about the magical ability and then the capability of being defensive and offensive. It will make a good experience for the audience. However, the narration was not as good as people expected Emily Rankin to have ensured.
