This is amusing and there come many points where the audience can laugh out loud too. Janet Evanovich has rarely written a less entertaining story in her life. The twists are there and the author does not try to make them look tragic and there is always a way out of the mess for the leading cast. Stephanie Plum is the bounty hunter and this is not a new thing for all of us because we know that from the introduction of the first book.
This is one of those rare occasions when she inherits something from her ancestors. Her uncle Pip leaves a strange bottle for Stephanie and it is branded as the lucky bottle. The problem is that Stephanie does not know whether the luck is good or bad. She has to check and for the first few days, it goes in both ways.
Vinnie gets stuck in a big way because of the gambling issue and he gets caught by the devil himself on these occasions. Lorelei King narrates rather quickly here in order to tell the difference between good and bad luck. Stephanie has to pay $ 786,000 to save Vinnie and if she gets lucky then she would be able to get to the man without paying the money.
Luck turns into bad again when Vinnie gets tangled in the pay-per-view porn issues. Things were a lot clearer in Two for the Dough and Going Rogue. This occasion it is going upside down in every chapter. The listeners cannot decide whether Stephanie is becoming lucky or she is getting the curse of bad luck because of the bottle.
