Vampires can walk here and there like a speeding bullet and they are powerful enough to tackle many humans at the same time. Still, these powerful beings who can bite you can make you one of them have one weakness i.e they cannot stay in the light. A single beam of light can kill them so it is the humans who rule in the daylight and not the vampires.
All Anita Blake has to do is to keep an eye on these vampires during the night and it is easy because all the humans are safe in their houses during the night. Anita has remained the best zombie hunter for years now and people trust her abilities. She too has complete confidence in her abilities after the missions which she has performed over the years. This time Micah’s father has been bitten by a vampire but it happened during the day which is strange.
The creatures which have risen this time have no issue with the daylight and this makes the job difficult for Anita who does not know how to deal with these creatures. Laurell K. Hamilton has put Anita Blake on a more difficult mission and she does not know how to get out of this one.
It seems that the narrator Kimberly Alexis had done a lot of homework before starting the narration perhaps he had gone through Crimson Death and Death of a Darklord to get some idea. The zombie apocalypse has started during the day too and if Anita does not come up with some kind of solution then it would be over.
