Michael Connelly will amaze the listener on occasions when he would not be ready for any kind of surprise. Especially in the Harry Bosch series such scenes are not very rare to find. The Concrete Blonde: Harry Bosch Series, Book 3 was stunning and Michael McConnohie’s narration here brings back those old memories more.
Harry like always is on a case but it is not a highly profiled case like the one we witnessed in Trunk Music: Harry Bosch Series, Book 5 rather it is the case of the murder of an ordinary woman. A female photographer got killed during the L.A. riots and many thought that it was a random bullet that caught the young girl. Harry started the investigation but he was taken off the investigation and the case was given to someone else who closed it without even going for the investigation.
For twenty years, Harry wasn’t able to get this thing out of his mind and now he thinks that he has a clue that can help in the solution of the case. The murder of the woman was not random rather it was intentional and someone did it for some personal cause. Harry starts going after the clues on his own and he has decided that he will not rest this time until the case is solved.
No one is going to take Harry off the case because he is not listening to anyone. Justice must be served under all circumstances and the criminal should be brought to justice. When the old clues are brought to the surface the old villain also becomes active and starts threatening Harry Bosch who is used to such situations.
