Unlucky 13
Unlucky 13 is a mystery thriller by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro. There are very few writers out there who could write mystery thrillers, police procedurals, and suspense better than James Patterson. The 8th Confession is a very good example of his work. The same could be said about his The Cornwalls Are Gone novel as well.
The audio narration of Unlucky 13 is done by January Lavoy. The narrator is very talented and this performance was quite good as well. In this installment, you will find the Women’s Murder Club is stalked by a killer who had nothing to lose at all. Lindsay Boxer, a detective from San Francisco was enjoying her life as a new mother. She was having a loving and attentive husband, and a satisfying job as well. On top of that, she had several best friends with whom she could talk or share anything from murder to sex. Things could never be better than this in her life.
The FBI sent a photograph to Lindsay. It was of a killer from her past. That was the time when her extremely happy world was shattered. The picture had a charming woman caught in the spotlight. But Lyndsay was able to see the psychopath behind those attractive and seductive eyes. It was a picture of Mackie Morales who was the most dangerous and deranged mind that the Women’s Murder Club had ever come across.
There were a few plot holes in this title which was not expected from a book having James Patterson as the writer. Such flaws in it dropped this book to a mediocre level. Even an excellent narration from LaVoy couldn’t make much difference.
