Middlesex Audiobook
Many people in the world were waiting for this second part of the series. People wanted to know more about the thoughts which provoked the author to create such kinds of stories. The year is 1974 and there is another girl named Calliope in this novel who is going to find out very soon that she is not normal.
Callie was studying in a girl’s school and this proves that she was a girl then on one occasion she got attracted to another girl which was an odd thing. Though she started controlling her desires initially later Callie started enjoying her company. The two really came close to one another but their relationship developed a flaw i.e they were not able to enjoy any kind of physical pleasure because of Callie.
Kristoffer Tabori has narrated this portion quite slowly in order to keep the clarity. This is the first time we learn about the physical condition of Callie who is not a girl or a boy. She finds out that she is half boy and half girl which is terribly strange. The Marriage Plot and The Virgin Suicides should not be preferred in this book.
This book shows the realization of a girl about the truth which is too big to digest. She starts analyzing the history of her family and she is horrified to notice that this gene defect has been continuing in the family for seven generations. There is no cure and the only way to survive is to live with the situation courageously. She knows that she has nothing to live for but she cannot just run away because her forefathers have survived before her.
