George R.R. Martin creates stories for the big screen only and here he has joined forces with Elio M. Garcia and Linda Antonsson. This means only one thing i.e the ride for the audience will be epic. Not to forget that the narrators of this book are Roy Dotrice and Nicholas Guy Smith who are big names in the business. Thus the book has all the basic ingredients that are needed for a hit piece of art. In the series, we have heard a lot about the Seven Kingdoms and the heroes that emerge from these kingdoms but the author never told us about the origin of these kingdoms.
George had this idea of writing a prologue since the beginning that’s why he never talked about the origin of these kingdoms in the series. Fire & Blood (HBO Tie-in Edition) and A Game of Thrones have talked about these kingdoms on a number of occasions but this book starts from the first step. Not only there is the history linked to the Seven Kingdoms present in this book but the authors have also discussed different battles that caused the rivalry to develop.
Later the enmity was passed on to the next generations and this started the separation of the big kingdom into seven pieces. Whoever listens to this book first before starting the series will be able to understand and enjoy the rest of the parts effectively.
Remember this is just the beginning so don’t expect any strong endings on this occasion because the author has just prepared the base here. The rest of the structure has already been built and presented by the author in advance.
