Grave Peril is the third chapter of the amazing The Dresden Files series. It is a suspenseful mystery thriller which is written by Jim Butcher. He is known for writing contemporary fantasy novels where The Dresden Files is his best work. Among his most appreciated novels, you will find Cold Days as one of them. Apart from this, Dead Beat is also a beautiful novel by the author.
The audio narration of Grave Peril is done by James Marsters. He is usually a good narrator but his performance in this book is quite average. He seemed to be quite low in energy and lacked expression in his voice.
Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden had a couple of quite rough weeks. He was the only known practicing pro wizard in and around the entire area of Chicago. He squared off against several bad guys of supernatural type. He happened to win his day against the sorcerers, demons, trolls, werewolves, poltergeists, and vampires. Those also included an evil faerie godmother. You would probably think that there could be nothing that could spook him. But, you are wrong to think that.
Something was stirring up several of the angry apparitions all over the town. It was something that could break all of the laws known to supernatural physics. Moreover, it was also something that doesn’t like Harry at all. This time, his close friends were the target.
Grave Peril is funny but quite too contrived as well. The storyline was way too complicated as the author this time looked to fit multiple plots in one and that didn’t work as expected. However, you will have many laughs throughout this book.
