The Great Alone Audiobook
The Great Alone is a fiction novel. It is written by Kristin Hannah. She is a highly talented American novelist. She did a tremendous job with the writing of her The Nightingale novel. Another novel where she is outstanding with her writing is Fly Away.
Julia Whelan is truly a highly skillful and gifted narrator. She performed this novel energetically and it was a sheer delight for the audience to listen. The story of The Great Alone starts in Alaska in 1974. There was a family in crisis that was supposed to go through their ultimate test of survival.
A former POW, Ernt Allbright came home after fighting hard in the Vietnam War. He looked to be a volatile and changed man upon his return. When he lost another job then he went with a big decision. He planned to move his family to Alaska where they would live on the last frontier of America. Leni was a 13 years old girl who was affected by the stormy relationship of her parents. She hoped that a new place might bring a better future for their family. Cora, her mother was determined to go anywhere for the man whom she loved so much.
Alaska looked to be the answer to all their prayers. They discovered an independent community of strong people in a remote corner of the state. But with the start of the winter, Ernt discovered himself having a hard time with his mental fitness and the entire family started to fracture. In that snow-covered place, Leni and Cora soon realized that they were all on their own there. The story of The Great Alone is exceptional but then it also has a lot of violence which might not go well with all the listeners.
