Crazy Rich Asians are romantic comedy fiction novel
. It is the first chapter of the Cray Rich Asians Trilogy which is written by Kevin Kwan. He is a Singapore-born American author. Sex and Vanity is his latest book which was published in 2020. He was also appreciated for his gripping writing in China’s Rich Girlfriend.
The accent of Lynn Chen, the narrator of this book is quite terrible. It was a definite distraction from the expected enjoyment of this title.
Rachel Chu was a New Yorker. The time when she agreed to spend her summer break with Nicholas Young, her boyfriend then she thought about having a nice and humble family home along with quality time with the man. She was hoping to marry Nicholas soon. But Nick on the other side failed to share some of the key details with her girlfriend about himself. The first one was that his childhood home looks just like a palace. The second one was that boarding private planes were a norm in his childhood. The third and last one was that he happens to be the most eligible bachelor in the country.
Rachel on the other side and the arm of Nick might also have a target on her back right at the moment she stepped out of the place. Her expected relaxed vacation all of a sudden came crashing down. It turned into an obstacle course of the new money, old money, scheming social climbers, and then the nosy relatives as well.
Crazy Rich Asians is a heartwarming and hilarious story that also became a bestseller in New York Times. It was also the basis for a motion picture.
