Whoever likes old legends and a gigantic display of power should listen to books like Iliad and Odyssey. These books have mesmerized many all over the world for centuries.
Though the stories are fantasies the depiction of the scenes and the heroic speeches that the author has painted just make all of it an ideal thing. Madeline Miller has also borrowed the subject from Iliad but the rest of the story is portrayed by the author on his own.
Patroclus is thrown out of the kingdom and he finds his way to the throne of King Peleus who has been ruling the kingdom in a strong way.
The king was quite happy to have a son like Achilles because the boy had all the talents to become a strong ruler. Patroclus is also given a place with Achilles in the palace which is something that is not liked by Achilles’ mother who happens to be a goddess.
She never wanted a mortal to be standing equal to her son in the palace. The two boys had nothing in common apparently but with the passage of time they came really close to one another.
When the issue of Helen was raised, the entire Greek army started its journey toward Troy because it was a matter of prestige for them.
Frazer Douglas has a charged-up voice for the story because as a narrator Frazer knew that he was narrating the character of Achilles.
The fate of these two young boys also gets decided in the battle of Tory eventually. The Song of Achilles and Circe are of the same era and the books are once again linked to the old Greek myths.
