Smit had lived the life of a king and he has been a successful one so after a hard struggle and a firm rule he was expecting death. Seven centuries were enough for him and he thought that the time has come to finally rest in peace. At this stage Smit thought to himself that all his struggles were actually meaningless because nothing would be remembered when he would be buried down.
So he died a peaceful death and on his last breath, he thought that the chapter of his life was finally close. Ironically his eyes opened once again and he found himself living an entirely different life as compared to the previous one. Smit is reborn as a dungeon and he has to survive among those who have godly powers and they are ready to crush him within no time.
One thing which Smit has never accepted in life is defeat and he is not going to accept it in this new life as well. Now he has to forge a new kingdom and he has to find a way to protect his creations. Thus the battle is on in this new novel by David Sanchez Ponton. If a person is given a second chance in life then he usually feels happy about it but Smit is not given the time to smile.
Also, he does not possess a heart that can make him feel happy. Henry Kramer has not kept the same kind of voice in narration for Smit in both of his lives because he surely remerges as a different personality. Hell Gate and Dungeon Heart: Halls of Stone will not allow you to even blink for a moment. These books are so well carved that they penetrate into your mind and soul.
